Container/Tube: Lavender-top (EDTA) tube or lavender-top (EDTA) MICROTAINER

Specimen: 3 mLof EDTA whole blood in lavender-top tube, or 250 ul whole blood in lavender-top (EDTA) microtainer

Transport Temperature: Ambient

Specimen stability: stable for 48 hours

Collection Instructions: Tube must be at least half full. Invert several times to mix blood. Forward promptly. Specimen cannot be frozen.

Note: If specimen cannot arrive within 2 hours of draw, send specimen refrigerated.

Male/Female 0-2 days: 3-7%

Male/Female 3 days-7 days: 1-3%

Male/Female 8 days-adult: 0.5-2.6%
