Methodology
A rapid slide test for the qualitative determination of rheumatoid factors in serum.
Rheumatoid factors may be found in some diseases other than rheumatoid arthritis (eg, scleroderma, lupus erythromatosis, Sjögren’s syndrome, hypergammaglobulinemia, and hepatitis.

Specimen Requirements
Container/Tube: 3.5 mL or 5 mL serum gel tube-Hemolyzed, lipemic, or a mislabeled specimen is not acceptable.
Specimen: 1 mL of serum

Collection Instructions: Forward promptly.

It has been reported that with standard serological tests only 70-80% of patients with the clinical diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis will exhibit a positive reaction.
