Specimen Requirements
Specimen must be tested within 30 minutes of draw. Do NOT draw off-site. Call the laboratory at 207-777-8400 prior to draw to notify Chemistry of specimen arrival.
Container/Tube: Light green (lithium heparin) or lavender (EDTA) tube
Specimen: 1 mL of plasma
Transport Temperature: Refrigerate
Collection Instructions: Tube must be kept on ice and delivered to laboratory as soon as possible. Do not draw off-site.
Reference Values
0-19 years: <51 µmol/L
>20 years: <33 µmol/L
