Urine, 24-Hour Collection
Submit an entire 24-hour urine collection in a plastic urine container. No preservative.
Note: 1. Starting and ending times of collection are required.
2. Follow instructions in Urine Collection in Special Instructions.
Urine, Random Collection
1 mL from a random urine collection. No preservative.
Reference Values
Random urine: There is no reference range established for random urine electrolytes.
24 hour urines
24 hour urine sodium: 40-220 mmol/24 hours
24 hour urine chloride: 110-250 mmol/24 hours
24 hour urine potassium: 25-125 mmol/24 hours
Note: 24 hour urine results vary with diet.
