Transport Temperature: Ambient

Collection Instructions: Fasting (12-14 hour)

Serum

Container/Tube: Plain, red-top tube or serum gel tube

Specimen: 1 mL of serum

Age 2-17 years:

Low HDL: <40 mg/dL

Borderline low: 40-45 mg/dL

Acceptable: >45 mg/dl

≥18 years:

>40 mg/dL (males)

> 50 mg/dL (females)
