Methodology

CLOtest detects the enzyme of Helicobacter pylori, formerly Campylobacter pylori, in gastric mucosal biopsies.

Specimen Requirements

1. Obtain biopsy of normal looking tissue (approximately 2-3 mm in diameter).

2. Peel back label of CLOtest exposing gel.

3. Remove specimen from biopsy forceps, and push it into the CLOtest gel. Make certain that tissue is completely immersed.

4. Re-seal CLOtest.

5. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), hospital identification number or date of birth, and date and time of collection.

 

Note: If biopsy material is very small, a second biopsy should be obtained.
