Includes qualitative testing for HIV 1 antibodies (including group O), HIV-2 antibodies, and p24 antigen, but does not distinguish between them.

Screening test used to determine the possibility of exposure to or infection with HIV.  Method is Siemens, Cehmiluminescence Immunoassay, Siemens Centaur Products CHIV (HIV Ag/Ab Combo).

Note: The performance of the assay has not been established for patients 18 months or younger.
